Edanz Freelance Medical Writer

Edanz is seeking an experienced freelance medical writer with verifiable writing experience. We offer flexible hours, remote working, competitive rates, and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of therapeutic areas together with a friendly, efficient team. This is a freelance opportunity; a contracted role may be available for the right candidate.  

 

Duties include: 

  • Developing high-quality scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals from raw materials (CSR, protocol, SAP, TLF) and bullet point key messages supplied by the client  

  • Reviewing manuscript drafts for scientific accuracy, flow, and logic and ensuring that the content meets the communicated objectives and specifications 

  • Incorporating feedback from project managers, fellow writers, and reviewers, as well as feedback from the client/author(s)  

  • Working within the scope and budget of the project 

  • Researching medical and scientific topics using appropriate information sources to support literature review development (as stand-alone manuscripts or as background/discussion text to put research into context) and ideas generation 

  • Promptly and clearly communicating with project managers and other team members 

We are also looking for writers who can: 

  • Develop protocols, CSRs and work on regulatory writing projects  

  • Develop publication plans and prepare landscape assessment reports (SWOT, gap analyses, market intelligence) 

 

Please apply if you have all of the requirements below: 

  • A degree in biomedical sciences, MD, and/or PhD preferred 

  • Previous medical writing experience gained within a medical communications agency, CRO, or pharma setting 

  • Writing samples where you were acknowledged as a medical writer 

 

Skills needed: 

  • Strong written communication skills 

  • High-level analytical skills to interpret and evaluate technical information 

  • Dependability and ability to complete tasks by the deadline 

  • Ability to work across time zones 

  • Excellent workload planning and time management skills 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Computer literacy 

  • Adaptability to respond to changing requirements
